running the tour

The Tour de France is one of the toughest sporting events on the calendar and this years routes is no exception. It takes place over 23 days with 21 grueling stages each designed to push the riders to their limits.

Along the 2069 mile long route it visits the Alps, Pyrenees and takes on the cobbles of Roubaix. This years famous climbs include alpe d'Huez and the Col de Portet pass at a altitude of 2215 metres.

It finishes as always in Paris with the riders arriving on the 29th July where their finish line awaits. With a 7 week head start, the race will be on for me to try and make it there before them.....
